Working with Zhiyuan Zhou, Zhitao Yu, and Fenggui Rao, I led the development of LinkIO, a novel tangible interface system that bridges discrete spaces through swarm robots capable of climbing flexible surfaces.
This project explores the intersection of embodied cognition and real-time physical visualization, creating interactive experiences that respond to human movement and environmental data. The system uses swarm robotics to create dynamic, responsive interfaces that can adapt to different spatial configurations.
Key innovations include the development of climbing mechanisms for flexible surfaces, real-time data visualization through physical movement, and the integration of embodied cognition principles in interface design.
