Yue Zhu 朱越

I am a first-year Master’s student in Interactive Media Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. My work critically examines the relationship between humans and technology, with a current focus on AI ethics and creativity support. I have a broad interest in Speculative Design and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Design from the China Academy of Art (CAA). My academic journey has been enriched by research internships at Tsinghua University’s Media and Interaction Lab and Politecnico di Torino, as well as an exchange semester in Transformation Design at the Willem de Kooning Academie.

My methodology combines rapid prototyping and empirical studies with critical reflection to perceive, understand, and renew the dynamics between human and non-human entities. In my artistic work, I often employ humour and absurdity to soften the intense conflicts within human-machine relationships. My design philosophy is also informed by feminist perspectives on sustainability and a long-standing interest in biological systems, which I studied for nearly three years in high school.
